Jean-Paul Bachy is a French politician who was born on March 30th, 1947 in Charleville which is situated in the Ardennes. After joining the school in Chanzy, Charleville-Mezieres, then moving to the school at Fontainebleau, Francis I, he joined the Lycée Henri-IV, in Paris. He continued his studies at the Faculty of Letters in Sorbonne, where he gradated.
He is also a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies of Paris and the Institute of Social Sciences in Paris. Throughout his studies of sociology, he was a member of the 'center of social science research work' from 1970 to 1974. That same year, he became a lecturer at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers, a position he still holds despite an interlude between 1984 and 1993. He was a representative of the National Social Party of Labor and Employment (1974-1981), a member of the Socialist Party's national council and the socialist president of the Regional Council of Champagne-Ardenne. He was also the mayor of Sedan and a member of the Third Circuit of the Ardennes.
